DESCRIPTION:<p>COME ON AN ADVENTURE! JOIN US TO EXPLORE AN OFF THE BEATEN TRACK, TRAMP 
 TO MT TIHIA.</p><p>The Project Tongariro forest restoration project has bee
 n running at Lake Rotopounamu for over 20 years and the improvement to bird
 life is remarkable! The trapping network actually extends over the road ont
 o the lower flanks of Mt Tihia - the peak opposite Mt Pihanga.&nbsp; This l
 esser known tramp is well worth the hill climb, crossing trapping lines and
  old surveyor tracks through beautiful native bush. And the views over Tūra
 ngi and the southern end of Lake Taupō are worth the effort!&nbsp;Join loca
 l conservationist Shirley Potter to be expertly guided and entertained!</p>
