JOIN LOCAL PROJECT TONGARIRO CONSERVATION LEGENDS FOR A WALK AROUND THE SHORES OF SOUTH LAKE TAUPŌ'S WONDERFUL WETLANDS - TE MĀTĀPUNA. EXPLORE THE 'KIDNEYS OF THE LAKE' AND LEARN ABOUT THIS UNIQUE LANDSCAPE AND ITS INHABITANTS.

Come and see how the area looks without invasive willows and understand the huge problems we face keeping them at bay! Bring shoes you won’t mind getting wet (or tall gumboots) No cost but a koha to a local restoration project will be appreciated!

PARTICIPANTS ARE ASKED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING:

• Gumboots / or shoes you’re ok with getting wet
• Weather suitable clothing - ie waterproof and warm clothing if wet weather
• Packed lunch and water
• Personal medication
• Insect repellent
• Camera
